  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried sage)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus more for topping, if desired)

  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, grated apple, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped sage, salt, pepper, and ketchup. Mix gently until combined.
  • Divide the mixture evenly among the muffin cups, packing them without overflowing.
  • Optionally, spread a little ketchup on top of each muffin.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and tops are golden brown.
  • Cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
