Description
Banana Bread Donuts bring the comforting flavor of banana bread into a fun, handheld treat. Perfectly moist, gently spiced, and baked instead of fried.
Ingredients
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 bananas) 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup melted butter 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt Optional: chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan. In a bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, yogurt, egg, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix. Spoon or pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Optional: drizzle with glaze or dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
Use overripe bananas for best flavor. Add chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips for variety. Donuts can be stored in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
