Description

These BBQ Sausage Bites are the perfect easy appetizer for any gathering! Juicy sausage slices coated in a sweet and tangy BBQ glaze make them a crowd favorite. Quick to prepare and even quicker to disappear, they’re perfect for parties, game days, or a casual snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tbsp honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Toothpicks (for serving)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sausage: Slice the smoked sausage or kielbasa into bite-sized rounds.
  • Cook the Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low. Add BBQ sauce, honey (if using), garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir to coat the sausage evenly.
  • Simmer: Let the sausage simmer in the sauce for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and clings to the sausage.
  • Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and insert toothpicks for easy snacking. Serve warm!

Notes

  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a unique twist.
  • For a spicier version, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
  • These can also be made in a slow cooker: combine all ingredients and cook on low for 2-3 hours.
