Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 2 tbsp honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Toothpicks (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sausage: Slice the smoked sausage or kielbasa into bite-sized rounds.
- Cook the Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low. Add BBQ sauce, honey (if using), garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir to coat the sausage evenly.
- Simmer: Let the sausage simmer in the sauce for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and clings to the sausage.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and insert toothpicks for easy snacking. Serve warm!
Notes
- Use maple syrup instead of honey for a unique twist.
- For a spicier version, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
- These can also be made in a slow cooker: combine all ingredients and cook on low for 2-3 hours.
