Ingredients
Scale
1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
3 tablespoons soy sauce (use low-sodium if you prefer)
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1/2 cup beef broth or water
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Mix well and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
Bring a pot of water to boil. Once boiling, add the broccoli florets for just about 2-3 minutes to cook them lightly. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, heat up the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and let it sear for about 1-2 minutes before stirring.
Once the beef is browned, toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for another minute until the garlic is golden.
Add the blanched broccoli to the wok and stir everything together. Mix in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch, then pour in the beef broth (or water) and stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Drizzle with sesame oil, stir, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
