Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter (room temperature)
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs (room temperature)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, underbake slightly and let them cool on the baking sheet. Store in an airtight container to maintain softness.
