1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate candy cones (or ice cream cones)
1 cup chocolate frosting
Optional: colorful sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and confectioners’ sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix well until combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Scoop the cookie dough by tablespoonfuls and roll into balls. Place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball slightly with your hand.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are firm and the centers are a bit soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Once cooled, generously frost the tops of the cookies with chocolate frosting and press a candy cone into the center of each frosted cookie.
