225 grams of spaghetti or your favorite pasta
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Salt, to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Once cooked, drain the pasta, but reserve about a cup of the pasta water.
In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Toss the drained pasta back into the pot with the garlic and butter. Stir gently to coat the noodles.
Add about half a cup of the reserved pasta water and stir. Adjust the consistency with more water if needed.
Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve.
