Cajun Chicken Orzo is a one-pan wonder packed with bold spices, juicy chicken, and creamy orzo. It’s a quick, flavorful dinner perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts, diced
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Season diced chicken with Cajun seasoning.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add diced onion and sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute.
4. Add orzo and toast for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
5. Pour in chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Stir in cooked chicken, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until creamy.
7. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use smoked paprika or cayenne for extra heat.
Add bell peppers or spinach for color and nutrition.
Swap heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter option.
