1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
1 medium onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 teaspoon paprika or Italian seasoning
Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk in a separate bowl until smooth.
In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer sliced potatoes, beef mixture, and soup mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with potatoes on top.
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and potatoes are tender.
