Description
Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish featuring tender chicken breasts sautéed in a rich mushroom and Marsala wine sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
2 large Open Nature® Air Chilled Skinless Boneless Chicken Breasts
about 1.5 pounds
Salt and freshly ground pepper
to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
plus more if needed
3 tablespoons butter
divided
10 ounces Cremini mushrooms
sliced
1 large Shallot
finely chopped
3 cloves garlic
minced
1 cup dry Marsala wine
1 cup O Organics® Chicken Broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup chopped parsley
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour, shaking off the excess.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter, then add the sliced mushrooms, shallot, and garlic. Sauté until mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-6 minutes.
- Pour in the Marsala wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Add the chicken broth and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Then stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet, allowing to heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve with pasta or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Adjust the amount of cream for a richer or lighter sauce as desired.
