Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup chocolate chips
chocolate ganache or syrup

Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add a little melted butter. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until the other side is cooked through.
