Churro Saltine Toffee is a deliciously decadent treat that combines the buttery crunch of toffee with the irresistible flavors of cinnamon sugar, all layered over crisp Saltine crackers.

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 package (about 40) Saltine crackers
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chopped nuts (e.g.
pecans or almonds)
Instructions
- Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Boil for 3 minutes.
- Pour the hot toffee over the crackers.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over the hot toffee.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the top and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips. For a gluten-free option, substitute Saltine crackers with gluten-free crackers.
