1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 package (about 40) Saltine crackers

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Chopped nuts (e.g.

pecans or almonds)


Instructions

  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lay crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Boil for 3 minutes.
  • Pour the hot toffee over the crackers.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over the hot toffee.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the top and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
  • Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
