Golden, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, these homemade churros are coated in cinnamon sugar and perfect for dipping in chocolate sauce. A classic treat you’ll love making at home!

For the Churros:
- 1 cup water
- 2 ½ tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Make the Dough:
- In a saucepan, heat water, sugar, salt, and butter until melted.
- Stir in flour and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before adding vanilla and eggs, mixing until smooth.
- Pipe & Fry:
- Heat oil to 175°C (350°F).
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip and pipe strips into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side), then drain on paper towels.
- Coat & Serve:
- Toss warm churros in cinnamon sugar.
- Serve with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping
Notes
- For extra crispiness, fry in small batches.
- If dough is too thick, add a splash of milk before piping.
- Try dipping in dulce de leche or Nutella for a fun twist!
