2 cups roasted green chilies, diced
1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 cups chicken broth
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, drained and rinsed (optional)

Instructions
In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. When it shimmers, add the diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until it turns translucent.
