12 oz rigatoni pasta
1 lb Italian sausage
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add your rigatoni. Cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring to avoid burning.
