Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of sushi rice, uncooked
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 cans (7.5 oz each) of salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of wasabi paste
  • 1 cup of shredded nori
  • Sesame seeds for topping

  • Instructions

  • In a medium pot, combine the sushi rice and water. Bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low, covering it and letting it steam for about 20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, green onions, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and wasabi paste. Mix until everything is well blended but not overmixing.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a baking dish, spread the cooked rice evenly across the bottom.
  • Gently spread the salmon mixture over the rice, making sure it covers all corners.
  • Sprinkle the shredded nori over the top, then finish off with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
  • Pop this beauty into the oven for about 25-30 minutes until it’s bubbling and golden on top.
  • Once it’s done, let it cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished with extra green onions or a drizzle of soy sauce if desired.
