Ingredients
**Chicken:** – 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts – 2 tbsp butter – 1/2 tsp salt – 1/2 tsp black pepper – 1 tsp garlic powder – 1 tsp paprika **Sauce & Rice:** – 2 tbsp butter – 1/4 cup chopped onion – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1/4 cup all-purpose flour – 2 cups chicken broth – 1 cup heavy cream – 1 cup long-grain white rice – 1/2 tsp salt – 1/4 tsp black pepper – Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Whisk in flour to form a roux; cook 1-2 minutes. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and cream, stirring constantly until sauce thickens. Add rice, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook 15-18 minutes until rice is tender. Return chicken to skillet, nestling into the sauce and rice. Cover and cook 5 more minutes to heat through. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for juicier results. Add mushrooms for extra flavor. Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
