Ingredients

Scale

For the Cajun Shrimp:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese, grated

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • A squeeze of lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the shrimp:

    • In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well coated.

  • Cook the shrimp:

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  • Prepare the creamy sauce:

    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

    • Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.

  • Finish the sauce:

    • Stir in the parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for another minute until smooth and creamy.

  • Combine the shrimp and sauce:

    • Return the crispy shrimp to the skillet, tossing them gently in the creamy sauce to coat.

  • Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice (optional). Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or a side of vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the shrimp seasoning.

  • This dish pairs perfectly with rice, pasta, or even zucchini noodles for a low-carb option.
