1 lb of baby bella or button mushrooms (about 16–20 mushrooms)
1 cup of all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup of breadcrumbs (panko works great for extra crunch!)
2 tablespoons of ranch seasoning mix
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Cooking oil for frying or spray oil if baking
Instructions
Prep the Mushrooms: Clean your mushrooms gently with a damp paper towel. Avoid soaking them in water.
Set Up Your Breading Stations: In one bowl, add the flour and a pinch of salt and pepper. In another, whisk together the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, ranch seasoning, and garlic powder.
Coat the Mushrooms: Dredge each mushroom in the flour, dip in the egg mixture, and roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
Cook Them Up: Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the mushrooms for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
Bake Them if You Prefer: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange the coated mushrooms on a baking sheet, spray with cooking oil, and bake for about 20 minutes.
