This Crockpot Ham, Green Beans and Potatoes Recipe is a comforting, one-pot meal that’s perfect for busy days. With tender ham, fresh green beans, and hearty potatoes, it brings together classic flavors effortlessly.
Ingredients
1 ham shank with plenty of meat on the bone OR 2 pounds ham or smoked sausage
cut into 1-inch pieces
2 pounds small red or yellow potatoes
or potatoes cut into 2–3 inch pieces
1 large yellow onion
chopped into 1-inch pieces
2 pounds fresh green beans
rinsed and trimmed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
4–6 cups chicken stock
plus more as needed
Instructions
- Place the ham or sausage at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add the chopped potatoes and onions on top of the meat.
- Layer the green beans over the potatoes and onions.
- Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the ingredients.
- Pour the chicken stock into the crockpot, covering the ingredients as necessary.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until everything is tender.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste. Adding a pinch of red pepper flakes can give it a nice kick!
