Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup caramel bits or soft caramel, chopped
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well combined. Do not overmix.
Spread a little more than half of the batter into the lined baking pan, smoothing it out with a spatula.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the batter.
Evenly distribute the chocolate chips and caramel bits on top of the pecans.
Dollop the remaining batter over the toppings. It’s okay if some toppings show through!
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
