  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or use parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar using an electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well mixed.
  • Alternately add the dry flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix just until incorporated.
