6–8 ripe nectarines, sliced (about 4 cups)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, mix your sliced nectarines with 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and the lemon juice. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg (if using), and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the nectarine mixture over the batter.
In a small bowl, combine a couple tablespoons of sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle generously over the top of the nectarines.
