Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup pepperoni slices (or ham, sausage, or your preferred meat)
- ¼ cup green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
-
Prepare the Stromboli:
- Unroll the pizza dough onto a floured surface and gently stretch it into a rectangle.
- Layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, bell pepper, and onion in the center of the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder for extra flavor.
-
Roll it Up:
- Carefully fold the sides of the dough over the filling, then roll it up tightly like a jelly roll.
- Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake:
- Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cut a few small slits in the top of the dough for steam to escape.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
-
Serve:
- Let the stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite meats, veggies, or cheese.
- For a spicy twist, add some red pepper flakes or use spicy Italian sausage.
- If you want a crispier crust, brush the dough with olive oil before baking.
