Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (or heavy cream)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (90g) chocolate chips

Instructions

1️⃣ Heat-Treat the Flour:

  • Microwave the flour in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until it reaches 165°F (75°C) OR
  • Bake it on a sheet at 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes to kill bacteria.

2️⃣ Make the Dough:

  • Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  • Mix in milk, vanilla, and salt.
  • Gradually add the heat-treated flour, mixing until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.

3️⃣ Enjoy or Store:

  • Eat immediately, or chill for a firmer texture.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
