Instructions

  • Cook the Bacon:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy (5-7 minutes).
    • Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set it aside. Leave about 2 tbsp of bacon grease in the pan.
  • Sauté the Onion & Garlic:

    • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened (3 minutes).
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Cook the Cabbage:

    • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and toss to coat it in the bacon grease.
    • Season with smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized (10-12 minutes).
  • Finish the Dish:

    • Stir in the cooked bacon and apple cider vinegar (if using).
    • Cook for another 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Serve & Enjoy!
