Ingredients
Scale
2 cups of cooked macaroni pasta
2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
½ cup of milk
1 large egg
1 cup of breadcrumbs
¼ tsp of garlic powder
¼ tsp of onion powder
½ tsp of salt
¼ tsp of black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Cook the Macaroni: Start by boiling your macaroni according to package instructions until it's al dente. Drain and let it cool slightly.
Make the Cheese Sauce: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the cooked macaroni, shredded cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.
Add the Egg: Once the cheese sauce has cooled a bit, mix in the egg.
Chill the Mixture: Transfer your cheesy mixture to a bowl and cover it. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Prep for Frying: Set up a station with breadcrumbs in one bowl and your chilled mac and cheese mixture in another. Form bite-sized balls from the mixture and roll them in the breadcrumbs.
Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat your vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the Bites: Carefully add the mac and cheese bites to the hot oil, cooking until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
Serve Warm: Enjoy these bites hot, with your favorite dipping sauces.
