Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh mushrooms
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Start by cleaning your mushrooms. Gently wipe each one with a damp paper towel or a soft cloth to remove any dirt. Avoid soaking them in water.
Depending on their size, either leave the mushrooms whole or slice them into halves or quarters.
In three separate bowls, place the flour in one, whisk the eggs in another, and mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the last one.
Take a mushroom, coat it in flour first (shake off any excess), then dunk it in the egg mixture, and finally cover it completely with the breadcrumb mixture.
Pour in about half an inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat.
Carefully place a few coated mushrooms in the hot oil, frying each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Once they’re fried, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle a bit more salt while still warm.
Serve your fried mushrooms hot and enjoy!
