  • Total Time: 50
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Garlic Butter Steak Fried Rice is a delicious and satisfying dish combining tender marinated steak with savory fried rice, enhanced by a rich garlic butter flavor. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

300g (10 oz) rump beef steak

½ tsp dark soy sauce

2 tsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp water

1 garlic clove

¼ tsp sugar

⅜ tsp baking soda

2½ tbsp canola or peanut oil

4 green onions

2 garlic cloves

520g (1 lb / 4 cups) cooked day-old long grain white rice

200g (7 oz) green beans

½ cup peas

2 tbsp fish sauce

1½ tbsp oyster sauce

½ tsp sugar

2 eggs

½ tsp sesame oil

pinch salt and pepper

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the steak, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, minced garlic, sugar, and baking soda. Mix well and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil and sauté the white parts of the green onions and minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until heated through.
  • Add the green beans, peas, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir-fry for another 3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Push the fried rice to the side and pour the egg mixture into the skillet, scrambling until cooked.
  • Return the cooked steak to the skillet, combine everything, and toss in the green parts of the green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use day-old rice for a firmer texture. Adjust seasoning to taste, and feel free to add other vegetables as desired.
