  • Total Time: 50
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Garlic Butter Steak Fried Rice is a delightful dish that combines tender marinated steak with fragrant garlic, a medley of vegetables, and fluffy fried rice, all brought together with a savory, umami-rich sauce. It’s a perfect one-pan meal that is quick to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

300g rump beef steak

½ tsp dark soy sauce

2 tsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp water

1 garlic clove

minced

¼ tsp sugar

⅜ tsp baking soda

2½ tbsp canola or peanut oil

4 green onions

2 garlic cloves

finely minced

520g cooked long grain white rice

200g green beans

½ cup peas

2 tbsp fish sauce

1½ tbsp oyster sauce

½ tsp sugar

2 eggs

½ tsp sesame oil

pinch salt and pepper

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced steak with dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, minced garlic, sugar, and baking soda. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add another 1 tbsp of oil, then add the white parts of the green onions and minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the cooked rice to the skillet and break up any clumps. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until heated through.
  • Add the green beans and peas (if using), and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the beans are tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs with sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Push the fried rice to one side of the skillet and pour the eggs into the empty side. Scramble the eggs until fully cooked, then mix with the rice.
  • Return the cooked steak to the skillet, add the green parts of the green onions, and give everything a final stir. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use day-old rice that has been refrigerated overnight to achieve the perfect texture for fried rice. Feel free to add other vegetables of your choice for more color and nutrients.
