Description

Crunchy, cinnamon-sugar coated squares baked to golden perfection — this homemade take on the classic cereal brings back childhood nostalgia with wholesome, delicious flair.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour (optional, or use all AP)

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dough: Combine flours, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix into a soft dough.

  3. Roll out: Roll the dough thin (1/8 inch) between two sheets of parchment.

  4. Cut into squares: Use a pizza cutter to score 1/2-inch squares. Prick each square with a fork.

  5. Top & bake: Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar topping. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp.

  6. Cool: Let cool completely before serving — they’ll crisp up more as they cool!

Notes

  • Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

  • Want it sweeter? Brush with melted butter before sprinkling cinnamon sugar.
