Ingredients
1 lb (450g) large shrimp
peeled and deveined
8 oz (225g) smoked sausage
sliced into ½-inch pieces
2 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper
to taste
¼ cup honey
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 cloves garlic
minced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Cooked rice or quinoa
Fresh parsley or cilantro
chopped for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the smoked sausage pieces and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp mixture and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked rice or quinoa and garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro.
