Description
This naturally sweetened peach jam uses honey instead of sugar, making it a healthier and flavorful spread. With just a few ingredients, you’ll have homemade jam that’s perfect on toast, pancakes, or as a gift.
Ingredients
-
4 ripe peaches, peeled and chopped
-
2 tablespoons lemon juice
-
2–3 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare peaches: In a large saucepan, combine chopped peaches and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, until softened.
-
Mash & sweeten: Mash the peaches with a potato masher or fork to your desired texture. Stir in honey, vanilla, and cinnamon (if using). Simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens.
-
Test & store: To test consistency, place a spoonful on a plate and chill briefly. If it firms up, remove from heat. Let cool, then store in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
-
Use fully ripe peaches for the best flavor.
-
Adjust honey to your sweetness preference.
-
This jam can also be canned for longer shelf life.
