For the Chicken:

  • 500 g (1 lb) chicken tenders
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (120 g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup (120 ml) buttermilk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Oil for frying

For the Hot Honey Glaze:

  • ½ cup (120 ml) honey
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Breading Station: In one bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne. In another bowl, whisk eggs with buttermilk. In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs.
  • Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken tender into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the Tenders: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken in batches for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel.
  • Make the Hot Honey Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, butter, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over low until melted and combined.
  • Coat the Chicken: Drizzle or toss the fried chicken tenders in the hot honey glaze.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately with ranch, blue cheese, or your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • For baking: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • For air frying: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Adjust the heat level by adding more or less hot sauce and red pepper flakes.
