This surf and turf dish combines a perfectly seared, juicy steak with tender, buttery shrimp drenched in a rich garlic butter sauce. It’s an easy yet elegant meal that’s perfect for special occasions or a satisfying dinner at home!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 10 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp butter (for searing)

For the Shrimp:

  • ½ lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak:

    • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
    • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter.
    • Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time to your preferred doneness).
    • Remove the steak from the pan, tent with foil, and let it rest while you cook the shrimp.
  • Cook the Shrimp:

    • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • In the same skillet, add olive oil and cook the shrimp for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
  • Assemble and Serve:

    • Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the shrimp and steak. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Adjust steak doneness by using a meat thermometer (130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).
  • Add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a spicy kick.
