1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
8 oz cream cheese (softened, but not melted)
½ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons flour (for cream cheese mixture)
Halloween-themed sprinkles or chocolate candies for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a medium bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Once it’s melted, stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
Crack the eggs into the mixture one at a time while whisking together. Mix in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring just until no dry patches remain.
In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and the 2 tablespoons of flour. Mix until fully incorporated and fluffy.
Pour half of your brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer, swirling gently. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and repeat the swirling process.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes. A toothpick should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached when they’re done.
Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes and sprinkle with Halloween-themed toppings while they’re still warm.
