Ingredients
Scale
2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon of salt
1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup of brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon of orange zest
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 cup of white chocolate chips
Optional: ½ cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the eggs, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined.
Fold in the white chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
