Ingredients
Scale
1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients for the box, usually eggs, water, and oil)
1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 oz) container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
1 package of Oreo cookies (about 15–20 cookies, crushed)
1 cup of chocolate syrup
Optional: extra Oreo cookies for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix with the ingredients listed on the box (water, oil, and eggs). Blend well until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork, poke holes all over the top of the cake, about 1 inch apart.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate syrup until well blended.
Pour the creamy mixture over the poked cake, ensuring it seeps into all the holes.
Once the filling has settled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake, then sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies over the top.
Cover the cake and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight if you can hold off!
