These Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookies combine creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate dough for a soft, chewy cookie with a beautiful marbled effect.
Ingredients
— Peanut Butter Dough —
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
— Chocolate Dough —
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Make the peanut butter dough: In a bowl, cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. Make the chocolate dough: In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of each dough. Gently press the portions together and roll into a ball. Slightly flatten and swirl the doughs for a marbled look.
5. Place on baking sheet spaced 2 inches apart.
6. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers look slightly underbaked.
7. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Do not overbake—cookies continue to set as they cool.
Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
Add chocolate chips or chopped peanuts for extra texture.
