4 slices of bread
2 tablespoons of butter, softened
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup of pizza sauce
Your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms)
Optional: Italian seasoning or dried oregano
Spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer a good amount of mozzarella cheese.
Spoon on pizza sauce over the cheese, followed by your favorite toppings, and finish with another layer of mozzarella on top.
Top with the second slice of bread, buttered-side up.
Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and the cheese is melty.
Remove from the pan, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve.
