halved lengthwise

1/4 cup dijon mustard

1 tablespoon fig preserves

1/2 cup roasted red pepper sauce

or 2 roasted red peppers

sliced

1/2 cup mixed pitted Italian olives

chopped

2 tablespoons chopped pepperoncini

912 ounces assorted deli meat (prosciutto

spicy salami

Spanish chorizo

pepperoni)

1/2 cup fresh basil leaves

46 slices whole milk deli mozzarella cheese

46 slices deli provolone cheese

1 cup baby arugula

3 tablespoons salted butter

at room temperature

46 cloves garlic

chopped

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, combine dijon mustard and fig preserves, mixing well.
  • Spread the mixture evenly over the cut side of each roll.
  • Layer the roasted red pepper sauce, chopped olives, and pepperoncini on the bottom half of the rolls.
  • Add the assorted deli meats followed by the fresh basil leaves, mozzarella, provolone, and arugula.
  • Replace the top half of the rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, chopped garlic, Italian seasoning, and grated parmesan cheese; brush this mixture over the top of the rolls.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before pulling apart the sliders to serve.

Notes

For a spicier kick, consider adding sliced jalapeños or using pepper jack cheese.
