Description

These colorful Rice Krispie treats are soft, gooey, and bursting with patriotic flair! Easy to make and even easier to eat, they’re sure to brighten any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • Red and blue food coloring

  • Optional: red, white & blue sprinkles


Instructions

  1. Melt base: In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.

  2. Divide & color: Split mixture into three bowls. Tint one red, one blue, and leave one white (plain).

  3. Add cereal: Stir 2 cups of cereal into each colored mixture.

  4. Layer: Press each color into a greased or parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan, layering red, white, then blue.

  5. Cool & cut: Let cool completely, then cut into squares. Add sprinkles if desired.

Notes

  • Use a greased spatula or wax paper to press layers evenly.

  • For extra flavor, stir in a splash of vanilla extract.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
