Description
This Rustic Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread is crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and packed with the savory flavor of garlic, herbs, and real Parmesan. It’s easy to make and pairs perfectly with soups, pastas, or just a swipe of butter.
Ingredients
-
3 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tbsp sugar
-
2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 tbsp dried Italian herbs (or mix of oregano, basil, thyme)
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
-
Mix dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, herbs, garlic, and Parmesan. Stir in warm water and olive oil until a dough forms.
-
Knead: Knead for 5–6 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Shape & rise: Punch down dough and shape into a round loaf. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
-
Cool & serve: Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm with butter or olive oil dip.
Notes
-
Add extra herbs or use fresh ones for a more intense flavor.
-
You can make it ahead and freeze slices for later!
-
