Ingredients
4 (6 oz) salmon fillets
Kosher salt

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
3 garlic cloves
minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
Crushed red pepper flakes
for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the salmon fillets with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the salmon fillets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.
- While the salmon is baking, prepare the lemon cream sauce. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
- Gradually whisk in the heavy cream, ensuring a smooth mixture.
- Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped dill to the sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the salmon fillets topped with the lemon cream sauce and garnish with crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add parmesan cheese to the sauce. Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
