Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Chocolate chips (for eyes)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about halfway.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- To make the icing, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the icing.
- Place chocolate chips on the donuts to create ‘eyes’ and let the icing set.
Notes
For an extra spooky touch, add food coloring to the icing. These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
