  • 2 (15 oz) cans of diced tomatoes
  • 2 (15 oz) cans of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 2 tbsp of chili powder
  • 1 tsp of ground cumin
  • 1 tsp of smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, jalapeños

  • Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink, then drain grease and transfer to slow cooker.
  • In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions, bell pepper, and minced garlic until onions are translucent (about 3-5 minutes), then add to slow cooker.
  • Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, and beef broth to the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • When done, taste and adjust seasoning, then serve in bowls with optional toppings.
