Description
Slow Cooker Huli Huli Chicken is a delicious and easy dish that combines tender grilled chicken with a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for serving over rice or in sandwiches.
Ingredients
1 package of pre-cooked grilled chicken breasts 20 oz/1.25 lb/566 g
¼ cup chicken broth
¼ cup Italian dressing
½ cup brown sugar
¾ cup ketchup
¾ cup soy sauce
¼ cup honey
1 to 2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 can crushed pineapple 398 ml/14 fl oz
½ cup water
Optional if making sandwiches with the meat: 1 cup reserved juices from slow cooker
1 teaspoon corn starch
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine chicken broth, Italian dressing, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, crushed pineapple, and water.
- Add the pre-cooked grilled chicken breasts to the slow cooker and stir to coat the chicken with the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is heated through and the flavors meld.
- If making sandwiches, reserve 1 cup of the juices from the slow cooker, and mix with corn starch in a small bowl to thicken over medium heat.
Notes
For best results, serve the chicken over rice or in a sandwich with the thickened sauce.
