  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

  • Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Add them skin-side down to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook another 5 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook for about 3–4 minutes until translucent. Then add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and garlic, stir, and cook for a minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stir well, and season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, skin-side up. Spoon the gravy over the chicken, cover, and simmer for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve.
