Ingredients
8 ½ ounces orecchiette
salt – to taste
1 small broccoli head – chopped into bite-sized pieces
7 ounces bacon bits
1 brown onion – diced
2 garlic cloves – minced
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp gochujang paste – more or less to taste
1 ½ cups heavy cream
freshly ground black pepper – for serving
Instructions
- Cook the orecchiette according to package instructions until al dente, adding salt to taste.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon bits over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add diced onion and cook until softened. Add minced garlic and dried thyme, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in chopped broccoli and sauté for about 5 minutes until tender.
- Add tomato paste and gochujang paste, stirring well to combine.
- Pour in the heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Combine the cooked orecchiette with the sauce and mix well, adding the crispy bacon bits back in.
- Serve hot, garnished with freshly ground black pepper.

Adjust the spiciness of the dish by varying the amount of gochujang paste according to your taste.
