  • Yield: 4 servings

Description

This Steak Queso Rice is a delicious fusion of flavors, featuring juicy steak, creamy queso, and fluffy rice that’s perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Flank or sirloin steak

Paprika

Ground cumin

Garlic powder

Olive oil

Cheddar cheese

Monterey Jack cheese

Whole milk

Chili powder

Fresh garlic

Long grain white rice

Broth

Fresh cilantro

Lime

Avocado

Jalapeños

Instructions

  • Season the steak with paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak until cooked to your liking. Remove and let rest before slicing.
  • In the same skillet, add minced fresh garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in the whole milk, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Cook long grain white rice according to package instructions, using broth instead of water for added flavor.
  • Combine the cooked rice with the queso mixture and mix well.
  • Serve the cheesy rice topped with sliced steak, fresh cilantro, a squeeze of lime, diced avocado, and jalapeños if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, allow the queso to simmer slightly before serving. Adjust the heat level by adding more or fewer jalapeños.
